Moved - at least for a while

A very warm welcome to all the folks dropping by from Whip-Up!  If you are looking for Patterns in Nature and knitting content, might I direct you to my main blog Knitting on Impulse.  For that matter, most of my jewellery and other creative work is over there now as well, as it was getting to be difficult to properly maintain two separate blogs.  Thanks!

Daffodowndilly - the bracelet

Finished, polished, and posted for sale at Impulse of Delight:

Daffodowndilly_bracelet_l

The cuff bracelet is knitted in fine silver, incorporating 90 creamy yellow freshwater pearls.  The whimsical ruffle is crocheted in fine silver, echoing the ruffled circumference of the original flower.  The cuff is supported across its full width by a sterling silver magnetic slide clasp, allowing a secure fit, and also making it possible to customize the length.

Bud

I am mesmerized by the sensual shapes and uncluttered lines of emerging foliage.

Spring Cleaning

Patio season has returned at last - blissful sunny afternoons of knitting, one eye on the kids, the other on the garden where the bears wander.  First though, there is the task of clearing the remains of a short but explosive altercation between our (ex) patio table and the past winter's record rooftop snowload.

Everyday Whistler - After the Rain

The day-long deluge yielded just before supper,

Sun_break

and as the sun fell pink behind the mountain,

Sunset

the last clouds scattered as from an abruptly truncated party, leaving the stars to revel in a clear cold sky.

Daffodowndilly

At last, the yellow ladies have come out to play:

Daffodils

The daffodil is not a meltingly frail flower.  She has crisp, assertive posture and attitude - she may be ruffly, but she commands her own space and laughs at the wind.

Clearly, my yellow phase is going to carry on a little longer.

Everyday Whistler - Buds and Brooks

2007_05_30

The little brook that splashes down through the Intrawest courtyard may be man-made, but it fascinates little boys with long sticks and great deeds to do, and on a sunny spring day provides a sparkling backdrop for burgeoning buds.
