So what does it mean when a short blog break feels like a guilty pleasure? Probably only that I was extremely tired by the time December 22nd came along and I've spent the last few days in a badly needed haze of sleeping in and doing nothing much (except wrapping.... endless midnight wrapping) in no particular order. But as the 31st approaches, I feel the faint stirrings of that annual urge to organize, summarize and plan... so I suppose I might as well try to write something as my brain flickers back online.
Here's a (randomish) sampling of what we've been up to:
Eh - it was Christmas morning. Then we gave him catnip.
I've got lots of resolutions slowly taking shape... I'll tell you about those another day.
Your Christmas break looks lovely - I wish we had snow here!

Don't you love it??

Down time followed by organization is a nice way to end the year. Your whole family (including the cat) looks about as happy as they can be.

Can't wait to see what your resolutions are. And thanks for mentioning The Dark Is Rising...I had forgotten about it completely, and now remember that my best friend when I was small used to refer to me as an Old One.
When I was smaller, I should specify ;-)
Our resolution is to listen, whatever that listening may entail, and to take action when necessary. We've already started. Scary, but good.

This is why I don't drink milk.
Glad your Christmas was good- are you out of the deep freeze yet? The hill's gotta be hurting for skiers; they sure are around here. It's warmed up to minus twenty and we've started to peel off layers.
Happy New Year!

More pictures of our beautiful grandchildren please. A family photo would be nice so we can see our lovely daughter-in-law also.
