is how I'm feeling today. Up half the night with a seriously feverish little guy, and spent most of the day cuddling him on the couch (and knitting, of course. Oblique has benefited mightily.) I have a thousand things I ought to have done instead, but when he feels truly awful, his most beloved comfort and medicine is my physical touch, and I am acutely aware that this is a precious and fleeting thing for a boy child. I did tiptoe away for a moment when he fell asleep:
Meanwhile, I got a wee bit of work done via my new voice-activated skein winder:
Is it just me, or does it look like he has a halo? Perhaps it's one of those ghostly imprints that can only be captured with a slow shutter speed (cue the Twilight Zone music...)
Assuming flu spares the adults of the household for another couple of days, I hope to have the entire backlog of BFL skeined, catalogued and up on the site for Sunday, along with the new rainbow socks and leafy mitt yarn. As for next week's productivity - that is entirely up to the flourishing flu fates. I would kick myself for never finding a window of opportunity to vaccinate us, but I hear this year's batch wasn't especially effective, so I've decided to go with the theory that ours was one of the missed strains.
May you continue to evade the flu! It's been going around the school I work at, very randomly - in one family of four, one child had flu (tested positive), the rest did not. Symptoms are all over the map also - no fever, low fever, high fever, vomiting, not, sinus drainage, little sinus drainage, cough...in various combinations. Not sure if it's one virus or a complex of them but we've done a lot of handwashing...
I hope your son feels better soon (my 15-year-old still wants Mom from time to time - although now it's for things like going to HS orientation...)

He does look like he has a halo! Look what he earns for all that skein winding.

I hope your little man is feeling better today and that you all stay healthy for a good long while.
I think that's the aura of a good man helping his wife.

Oh, poor Liam! The bugs will be gone in no time, don't worry, it just *feels* like it lasts forever! Thank goodness for your new skein winder! Will he be employee of the month every month? :o)

Tell Liam we are thinking of him and we hope he feels better soon.
Hopefully the rest of the family will stay healthy.

I never liked it when the kids were sick but sometimes it really was good to hunker down and remember the quietness with them. Sounds like that's what you're doing.

I think you are very wise to cuddle when it's needed.

I hope he's feeling better. My youngest one is the only one that will cuddle with me anymore so I take it when I can!

I love this picture -- it says so much -- down to the cat asleep on the pillow above where you were sitting. If you had not said what it was all about, I could have guessed. I do hope your little guy (and wow, looks like he is really growing)is feeling much better today, and that the rest of the family aren't following in line with the same stuff.Be sure and get your rest. That is what my Mom would have said to me!By the way, love the hat for your DH, I am sure the guys he works with will be envious. Neat he is so helpful. Love the halo.
