Towards Spring:
Towards getting my body back. First BSG and now this - the antithesis of everything I ever believed sound, sensible, and good value for the money - a workout video, based on a reality TV show, no less, complete with ad laden website and tricky 30 day "free trials" that aren't.... But Steph and Laura said it was good - that knitblogger effect again. This morning was day 1 and honestly, I think the exercise bit is very good. It is based on constant motion, a balance of strength and cardio, and the principle of working as many muscle groups as possible at the same time. Reminds me of the hard core class I used to go to at the YMCA in St. John's 18 years ago (I can't believe that's a 2 digit number) before aerobics got all fancy pants low impact and useless. However, Ibuprofen will be my friend for a while.
Towards balance. (Though I think we've agreed that it's not a destination.) Latest mind-blowing epiphany: a stopwatch (or failing that, an eye on the clock.) Turns out that writing down and cataloguing how long stuff actually takes me and then planning my finite number of kid-free hours accordingly, works. And is also a bit depressing, when item 1 on my To Do wish list promptly fills up all the available time for the day. I think though, that it's better to know going in how little you're going to accomplish, rather than being perpetually disappointed at day's end.
While we're on that topic - no new colourway this week. Taxes took that time slot, and I'm also feeling the weight of all those rainbow sock pre-orders.
Now, if you'll excuse me, it's time for my nightly BSG fix....
I think that top picture is just begging to become a colorway!
