Such a great guy - if you have access to CTV.ca, you've got to look up his post race victory walk/interview with Jennifer Hedger (you'll have to search it on the site - it doesn't appear to be possible to link specific videos).
If you watched the race, you will have seen his standing leap onto the podium - I think Rob rather outdid himself with this shot:
Celebrating with the crowd immediately after epic his fourth run:
Victory hugs as Dukers' time displays (look at the board top left):
Sharing the joy with his wife:
On the podium:
And the trio flag waving for the adoring crowds:
The first gold medal to be awarded in Whistler happens tonight - I won't make the actual presentation, but if the bobsleds manage to stay upright and Rob gets home in time, I might join the after-party. (Depends if I can keep my eyes open - Rob's been getting home after midnight excited and chatty all week, and I've been getting up early the next morning with the kids - I just can't do that for as long as I used to!)
That was an epic win! It must be great to be so close to the action...

Yeah!!! I haven't seen Rasputin Q. Throquemortonne the third once (well, I thought I did but it turned out the coach's jacket was yellow)

So exciting! I was so happy for him.
I also haven't seen Rasputin Q. Throquemortonne, despite the best efforts of our family to spot him. He's sure adding a whole layer of anticipatory silliness to our spectator fun! Thank the crew for us.

I saw Montgomery receive his medal (two ceremonies?) at the main plaza as broadcast on NBC and I loved that he sang out the national anthem proudly and forcefully and knew all the words. There has been some comment in the US papers about athletes not being coached on podium etiquette and not knowing the words to their anthems. I felt like Montgomery showed everyone how to do it right!
