Well, even though I am not a doctor, have never been one, and never even played one on TV, I'm pretty sure that by the 10 day mark "nothing" gets steadily better, not steadily worse. Here's hoping that the "something" gets better soon. Doctors (and maybe former doctors even more so?) must make the worst patients.

Sidney

my best wishes/prayers for a quick and complete recovery, with or without the 'expert' advice of your physician!

Deborah (aka Mt. Mom)

Right, it could be not-nothing! Here's wishing you get a sound diagnosis and are on the path to better real soon!

Kerri

Ewwww...you sound like where I was 2 weeks ago! I waited 'til Day 9 before finally going to the Dr. "Nothing" showed up on the chest x-ray, but after the Dr's appt and a good round of antibiotics, I sure was feeling real better real soon. Good drugs or simply peace of mind that it wasn't "something"!?? Who knows! Here's hoping you're on the mend quickly and it's OK for Dr's to need Dr's! (even if it IS "nothing"!!) :)

I hope you get over this soon. I have been coughing for almost 3 weeks now. I went to the doctor and was given antibiotics. They didn't help. There's a nasty virus going around that causes a lot of coughing. It just had to run its course. I'm in my third week and finally getting over it. Yay! Drink LOTS of water, or tea. You wanna keep the stuff in your lungs liquefied so you can cough it up.

Barbara

I had the cold for a week, then it slid into my chest along with a fever, coughing up gross crud and I was sooooo tired. I called the Dr. and got right in, it was acute bronchitis. A z-pac of antibiotics knocked it down quickly. I am going into the fourth week after the start of the cold and still have jags of dry coughing but nothing like what it was. Do go get it checked out!

Cookie

I hope you start to feel better. I'm glad you have an appointment because it could be "something".

Gillian

If I remember correctly, doctor's are supposed to diagnose themselves. All the best.

Judy G.

Yuck! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Deb from Kingston

OH no! Annie had a cough/cold thing that seemed to drag on FOREVER! Doc diagnosed a sinus infection(antibiotics for 3 weeks), then enlarged adenoids and rhinitis (steroid spray) and now we are also set too vist the allergist again. Something is passing through the population at school as well- most classes have at least two kids oout per day. So if this is what you have caught- I am really sorry. I hope you feel much better really soon. Take care-

Ten days? Arrrrgggg!! What would you have said to a similare pt in The Olden Days of your former profession?? Which is really my way of saying Take Care of Ruthself and Getting Better Wishes/Prayers are flowing your way.

Given the number of people who have brought their non-local germs to Whistler recently, it isn't surprising that some found you. It's never "nothing" when it's bad enough to drive you to a doctor, and sometimes even when it isn't. I've had "nothing" that was walking pneumonia.
