Olympic/Paralymic mayhem: receding. (That's a heck of a lot of household disorder to... recede back into place, though.)
Personal health: improving, but...
Sleeping: still on the couch, after two weeks. (So that one of us isn't kept up all night by the cough - someone has to function around here.)
Two weeks of seated activity in lieu of dyeing:
Dyeing: has resumed. In a big way. Feels good.
Kids: home sick. Apparently the cough was contagious.
Desktop: making me crazy, in an anxious and WHY NOW-ish sort of way.

Mindless computer-fixing knitting to assuage the feeling of complete and utter time suck:

Laptop: making me slightly less crazy, in a hopeful-but-ripe-for-disappointment manner. (It was supposed to be a three photo post. Also it has eaten the last half of my post three times, now.)
Local WiFi: painfully slow, as compared to cable internet. Not complaining. Much.
Critical deadlines for computer intensive projects: many, and looming.
Number of offspring with a birthday this week: one. (The other is in two weeks.) Party: deferred due to illness.
House: disasterous.
Company coming: Thursday. Odds that the sad, sad squalor of our lives will not be widely reported and remarked upon: slim.
Hey--if those visitors truly care, they will clean for you. Glad you are feeling better.

Blog post - Funny. Funny. Sorry to laugh at misfortune, but the way in which you describe what's going on in your life right now made me chuckle. Thanks for brightening my day.

My friends know how poor my housekeeping is, those who found it offensive became non-friends by their desire. If your company can't understand Olympics, bronchitis, small children and work come before vaccumming and laundry; well, let's just say may the bronchitis be visited upon them...along with a dust rag and a mop.

Hope life gets a little more organized for you sometime soon. This, however, is not the usual experience IMO. Life just keeps throwing curve balls! I guess it's what makes life be life!
LOVE that colorway!!

You are funny! I am in week three of the same thing you have had and am just now starting to feel better. So I know the feeling. My house is in the same condition.
Can't worry about it - can only do my best. And that's all you can do. Glad you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

If the house/chaos/clutter is making you crazy - hire someone to clean. Even if it still looks cluttered to you, it will be better, and the clutter will be clean clutter. I am at my most productive the days after the cleaning lady comes. I feel like I can breathe again. It is totally worth the peace of mind. (Plus I am not angry at my husband for the state of the house.)
