School finished up yesterday, with the obligatory floods of tears and thank-yous and good-byes, and we slept in (until 7:40 - radical layabouts that we are) this first morning of summer. I use the term "summer" only because that's what the school calendar says; technically speaking, the present climate is more fall-ish. Late fall-ish. There's tubing and snowshoeing in the alpine this year, where normally we hike and picnic.
I have great hopes of doing this year's school holiday / work balance more gracefully than last year, and in support of that goal, decided that a committment to daily holiday blogging might help keep me on track, or at least assist in not losing whole weeks at a time to lala-land. So here's a wee summary of day 1:
1. Finished the stash listing. Finally. You can see it here. Mailing is well underway, but I'll be sorting through emails and double/triple checking the duplicate shipping refunds for a few days yet. Once all that's out the door, it's on to phase 2 of the great home/workspace redo, and from there, with any luck, a return to dyeing and pattern writing with renewed energy and clarity. Oh yeah, and learning to spin!
2. Rob took Eowyn to see the horses - she was in awe.
3. I put the computer in a time-out and walked to the library with the kids. Found some lupins on the way.
I had to tell you how much I love the picture of Eowyn and the horse. Absolutely precious. OK, I love hound pictures anyway, but 'in awe' describes it perfectly!

I never get tired of seeing pics of your precious dog-let. I love her facial expressions. She's such a cutie.

Oh, I see I missed a different version of Mystic Mushrooms! If you ever dye that color again, I'll be first in line. Love it!
Weather has been so weird lately--my family lives in Oregon and they keep telling me about rainy, cold weather, while here in Boston it's been outrageously hot since May. Maybe the Coasts can trade weather here soon...or at least split the difference between them.

your lupine photos are incredible. It's such a joyful, prancing flower, isn't it.

I love the lupin pictures - that last one would make a wonderful colorway, the gray-blue and green and pale gray -

The lupins are beautiful. Only you could make a lupin seed pod look beautiful! And of course the horse - Eowyn picture is really neat!A friendship in the making.

I love seeing flower pics on your blog because I know that one day there will be a breath taking colourway inspired by that flower. Have a fun Summer.
