In keeping with my summer resolution to stop foregoing celebrations for work, we headed down to the parade as a family. Despite the unseasonable cold and spitting drizzle, the mood was buoyant in the village.

A contingent of hometown Olympians:

But enough of that - Liam and I are off to bake a much anticipated, and repeatedly begged for, Canada Day cake.
It looks and sounds like a wonderful Canada Day. We wish we were there!

Great people shots, but of course the last was the best! So serious. And the 2 of you did a great job on the cake. Was it chocolate, by any chance? Colored sugar was great -- flag red frosting would taste terrible, you have to put so much coloring in.
