We spotted this little guy hopping about the garden a couple of weeks ago, and feared he'd moved on.
He turned up today, soaking up rainwater in an old toolbox turned plaything, and there was great rejoicing. I have a love affair with amphibians that dates back to childhood, so a resident toad is the silver lining to a cold wet spring that turned 200 lovingly planted bulbs into soggy compost.
I wonder though, would it be bad luck to dye knitting yarn after the fashion of a frog? Or would the toad designation be enough to protect ensuing projects from the jinx of repeated ripping....
The first thing I thought when I saw this picture: Toad Yarn! It would be beautiful, what ever you named it.

After all, no one "toads" their yarn.

I'm with Chery. That second photo especially made the words "Toad Yarn!" scream out in my head. The yellow undertones on his skin are just gorgeous. I would kiss that yarn.

Yes, the yarn would be beautiful - I just love shades of green, brown, yellow, etc...
Now, I must admit that I can't even look at the very awesome photos for very long without my stomach getting all squirmy. I don't know why, but amphibians totally scare me! Yes, I know they are small and harmless, but seriously, everytime I see a frog, I jump, scream, etc... I live and Texas and we have BIG frogs here. Like BIG. One time I actually had my son (he was 2.5 at the time) push a frog out of our garage with a broomstick. I couldn't even touch the 5 foot broomstick that was briefly touching the frog. My son was cracking up at me screaming.

How well I remember you and your family of frogs in the spare bathtub.I remember that our only stipulation each time was you had to put them back in the pond across the road before night fall. The frogs seemed to like you as much as you liked them! Figures your kids would love them too.
I too love the colors in your toad and think they would make a wonderful colorway. Toad yarn! cute!

I vote for toad yarn! I'm sure that is good luck - it will be a new bestseller, I'm sure!

If I had yarn in this colourway I wouldn't mind frogging, because then I could knit it again.
