So instead of doing the yarn update today, I went on a bear watching field trip with my daughter's fifth grade class.
A convoy of 4 wheelers drove up Whistler mountain with Michael Allen, Whistler's local bear expert. We then did a little hiking... and a whole lot of looking:
Just look at that glossy blue-black coat - I might need to have another go at the Black Bear colourway.
And of course, the obligatory opportunity to crawl inside a real (vacated) bear den:
I love this town.
Yarn will go up tomorrow morning - there's lots of great colours, and I'm starting to fill out the BFL worsted weight stock in preparation for a great season of sweater knitting.
Very cool field trip! :)

Beautiful bear -- lucky kids! Great Mom to volunteer. I am sure she loves it too.

Wow, this is fun when you go looking for bears on purpose, not so fun when they sneak up on you and leave bear prints all over your deck. (Last year when I was cooking chicken.)
Great shots!
