Well, it only took... what... six months? (Or maybe I got caught in a time warp and it was twice that - also entirely possible.) Anyway, the promised shawl pattern to go with the fingering sampler packs is finally designed to my satisfaction (there were a lot of false starts and not-quite-awesome-enoughs because I am ever so slightly perfectionistic) and tech-edited and test knit within an inch of its life. And when all is said and done, I'm pretty proud of it.
The Peak to Peak shawl as pictured was knit from a single fingering wt. sampler in Original Blues and Greens (approx. 360 yds of fingering weight yarn). It is designed to be knit until you have just enough yarn left to bind off, so it is very flexible in terms of yardage and can easily be extended to larger sizes. It's a great way to use up a single precious skein or combine your sock remnants into a colourful project. The strong lines and sharp directionality make it a particularly great choice for self-striping or highly variegated yarns.
The shawl pattern is free with the purchase of a fingering sampler pack or may be purchased on its own for $4.00 CAD.

Very pretty - and lovely pictures too!
I'm looking forward to wear mine - just have to do the finishing details (that always takes me forever), and take some pictures. And I love it!
