What a great reminder of a loving dog. Winnie is with you in spirit every Xmas. She was a lovely dog.

We are nursing our Goof through his slow decline, and I had a pang as I hung the yellow lab ornaments on the tree, thinking that this is probably the last Christmas they will be simply a sign of our lab-silliness, rather than a reminder of a dear friend gone.

I went back and read your posts about Winnie. She was a beautiful dog, in all the ways that matter.

I had to smile when I saw your ornament - we have an identical one honoring our border collie, Wilbur, who is 13. Last winter, when I packed up the ornaments, I was convinced we'd had our last Christmas with Wilbur. He had developed myasthenia gravis and could barely swallow food or water. I nursed him through the winter, and he went into remission and rallied strongly. This...though, again, at his age it may be his last, was his best Christmas ever.

I just read your posts about Winnie - she was truly an angel on earth, too.
