But first, in honour of Saturday, some sky:
The almost-but-not-quite-snowy season is upon us. Even so, the mountain entertains by putting in a ghostly appearance from time to time.
Last night, we stayed up way too late watching the latest Indiana Jones flick - a good romp, as long as you don't get too serious about plot and plausibility. Here's what I worked up during the movie:
I'm quite proud of the fact that I have finally accumulated enough knitterly experience to make up the embossed motif as I went along. I'll have to do up the mate this morning before I forget what I did, though - hopefully my luck will hold with the colour intervals. They'll go in the gifting box.
The yarn is one of my new base yarns - a heavy worsted weight superwash merino - perfect this time, with a firm but not overdone twist that allows for great stitch definition, and considerable pill resistance. (From the makers of the gold standard of superwash merino yarns, so I'm not surprised.) This was a test skein - there will definitely be more in weeks to come.
